Austin, Minn.—Cooperative Response Center, Inc. (CRC) is pleased to announce the nine recipients of its 2021 scholarship program, each awarded $1,500 for their post-secondary education costs. This year’s scholarship recipients are as follows:
Kory Engelstad is a 2021 graduate of Austin High School in Austin, Minn. Engelstad plans to attend South Dakota School of Mines & Technology in Rapid City, S.D., to study engineering.
Molly Garry is also a 2021 graduate of Austin High School. Garry plans to attend the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minn., to pursue degrees in physical therapy and nursing.
Briana Hughes is a 2021 graduate of Merkel High School in Merkel, Texas. Hughes, who is the daughter of CRC employee Michelle Rodriguez, will attend Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas, to study psychology.
A 2021 graduate of Sequatchie County High School in Dunlap, Tenn., Brianna Rogers, the daughter of CRC employee Anna Rogers, plans to attend Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tenn., to pursue a degree in animal science and microbiology.
Nathan Ruhter, son of CRC employee Jacqi Ruhter, is a 2021 graduate of Austin High School. Ruhter plans to attend Riverland Community College in Austin to study accounting.
Katelynn Smith is a 2021 graduate of Cooper High School in Abilene. Smith plans to attend Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, to study law.
Anna Kate Tibbs is a 2021 graduate of Sequatchie County High School. Tibbs will attend the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn., in the fall and plans to pursue a degree in environmental science.
Brady Turner, the grandson of CRC employee Annette Holland, is a 2021 graduate of Bledsoe County High School in Pikeville, Tenn. Turner plans to attend the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga, Tenn., to study exercise science.
A 2021 graduate of Austin High School, Eric Yang plans to attend Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y., to pursue degrees in mathematics and education.
This is the thirteenth year CRC has offered a scholarship program to local graduates. In October 2020, students in the communities in which CRC has offices – Austin, Dunlap, and Abilene – were invited to apply for a 2021 CRC scholarship. The scholarship recipients were selected in May.
“We received a number of impressive applications for our scholarship program this year,” said Chris Holt, CRC’s president and CEO. “After what was a very untraditional academic senior year, to see so many outstanding students is impressive and we know they will do great things as they begin their higher education journeys. Congratulations to the students on their high school achievements and the best of luck in the next chapter of their lives.”
