CRC Welcomes Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative to its Membership

Cooperative Response Center, Inc. (CRC) is pleased to welcome Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative (MLEC) of Centerville, Tennessee, to its contact center membership. MLEC is a member-owned electric distribution cooperative serving 33,500 meters in middle Tennessee.

CRC offers utilities across the country seamless contact center and alarm monitoring solutions, including call management, line crew dispatch, AMI/CIS/OMS integration, CRCLink® outage communication software, and alarm monitoring. CRC also offers outage texting services, video monitoring of substations, a Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance solution which utilizes live agents for billing calls, and English proficiency translation services. From outage calls to billing calls, disconnects to emergency locates and more, CRC is there for its membership 24/7/365. By partnering with CRC, members find peace of mind as well as a cost-effective solution to their call handling needs.

MLEC joined CRC’s membership in May, subscribing to its energy dispatch contact center services which include inbound call management as well as dispatching of line crews.

“Switching to CRC for our after-hours outage communications has been a positive move for our members and employees,” said Keith Carnahan, MLEC’s president and CEO. “Their ability to offer additional lines during times of high call volume was very important to us. They also offer members an option to receive a follow-up call when power is restored. The first weekend we used CRC, an MLEC member commented on Facebook about how much they appreciated the call-back option. We knew then that we were on the right track.”

Working with a cooperative like CRC who shares similar principles was also a draw for MLEC. “Like MLEC, CRC is a Touchstone Energy Cooperative member, so we know delivering quality service is important to them,” he said. “We are excited about working with CRC to help improve power restoration communication efforts and for future opportunities for other services.”

Chris Holt, CRC’s president and CEO, is pleased CRC meets the needs of MLEC and its consumers. “We’re happy Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative and its membership can benefit from our products and services,” said Holt. “We strive to serve as an extension of our membership’s offices in whatever form necessary. We look forward to working in partnership with Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative to meet the needs of their members.”
