Santee Electric Cooperative, Inc. Joins CRC’s Services

Cooperative Response Center, Inc. (CRC) is pleased to welcome Santee Electric Cooperative, Inc. of Kingstree, South Carolina, to its membership. Santee Electric Cooperative is a member-owned electric distribution cooperative serving over 43,000 meters in east central South Carolina.

CRC offers utilities across the country seamless contact center and alarm monitoring solutions, including call management, line crew dispatch, AMI/CIS/OMS integration, CRCLink® outage communication software, and alarm monitoring. CRC also offers outage texting services, video monitoring of substations and a Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance solution which utilizes live agents for billing calls. From outage calls to billing calls, disconnects to emergency locates and more, CRC is there for its membership 24/7/365. By partnering with CRC, members find peace of mind as well as a cost-effective solution to their call handling needs.

Santee Electric Cooperative recently subscribed to CRC’s contact center dispatch services which include inbound call management as well as dispatching of line crews. According to Rob Ardis, president and CEO of Santee Electric Cooperative, partnering with CRC to handle dispatch responsibilities is one of the biggest benefits of switching to CRC’s services.

“Previously we had an in-house dispatcher who often times would sit alone in dispatch with nothing to do,” he explained. “Then, during an outage, we were overwhelmed with calls. Now our group of dispatchers have been cross-trained and no longer have to cover so many hours in the control center. CRC operators and dispatchers handle the coordination of outage calls and work with line crews to restore the outage.”

Ardis also appreciates CRC’s ability to offer recorded front-end greetings during outage situations that notify the membership that Santee Electric Cooperative is aware of outages in the area. “Many of them hear this message and feel comfortable to end the call there,” he explained. “This cuts down on costs and also alleviates member anxiety during outages. With CRC, you pay for exactly what you need.”

Chris Holt, CRC’s president and CEO, is happy to have Santee Electric Cooperative join CRC’s services. “We’re pleased to join in partnership with Santee Electric Cooperative to serve their membership,” Holt said. “Our core strength is our employees and technology, which we’re glad complements Santee Electric Cooperatives overall operations.”
