Austin, Minn.—Cooperative Response Center, Inc. (CRC) is pleased to announce the twelve recipients of its 2019 scholarship program, each awarded $1,000 for their post-secondary education costs. This year’s scholarship recipients are as follows:
Sarah Bachmeier is a 2019 graduate of Austin High School in Austin, Minn. Bachmeier plans to attend the University of Mary in Bismarck, N.D., to study nursing.
Elisabeth Dantzler is a 2019 graduate of ATEMS High School in Abilene, Texas. Dantzler plans to attend Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas, to obtain a degree in elementary education.
Mary Dantzler is also a 2019 graduate of ATEMS High School. Dantzler will attend Angelo State University to study marketing.
A 2019 graduate of Austin High School, Signe Fadness will attend Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, to pursue a degree in nursing.
Haley Griffith, the daughter of CRC employee Sam Griffith, is a 2019 graduate of Hixson High School in Hixson, Tenn. Griffith plans to study forensic science at Chattanooga State Community College in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Madison Headrick is a 2019 graduate of Sequatchie County High School in Dunlap, Tenn. Headrick will attend Lee University in Cleveland, Tenn., in the fall to study to become a nurse practitioner.
Sarah Hillson is a 2019 graduate of Austin High School. Hillson plans to attend the University of Northwestern in St. Paul, Minn., to pursue an intercultural studies and music degree.
Eleanor Hinchcliffe is a 2019 graduate of Austin High School as well. Hinchcliffe plans to attend either Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn., or St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn. to pursue an English degree.
Clara Irambona is a 2019 graduate of Cooper High School in Abilene. Irambona plans to attend Angelo State University to study to become a pediatric nurse practitioner.
Maia Irvin is a 2019 graduate of Austin High School. In the fall, Irvin will attend Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, to study journalism.
The daughter of CRC employee Carrie Johnson, Shayla Johnson is a 2019 graduate of Sequatchie County High School. She plans attend Chattanooga State Community College to pursue a degree in agriculture business.
Chloe Sheehan, the daughter of CRC employee Aimee Sheehan, is a 2019 graduate of Austin High School. She will attend South Dakota State University in Brookings, S.D., in the fall to study biology.
This is the eleventh year CRC has offered a scholarship program to local graduates. In October 2018, students in the communities in which CRC has offices – Austin, Dunlap, and Abilene – were invited to apply for a 2019 CRC scholarship. The scholarship recipients were selected in May.
“Each year we’re always impressed by the pool of candidates who apply for a CRC scholarship,” said Chris Holt, CRC’s president and CEO. “Typically we only give out six $1,000 scholarships each year but doubled the amount in 2019 due to the impressive quality of the applications. Congratulations to the students on their recent high school graduations and best of luck to them as they continue their educational journeys. Their hard work, dedication, and commitment to community are to be commended.”
