CRC’s Board of Directors Election Steps
Delegate Registration Process
In accordance with Article 2, Section 2.5 of CRC’s Amended and Restated Bylaws, “each member must designate an authorized representative to cast their vote in the affairs of the Cooperative. The designation must be in writing, must be properly authorized by the member, and must be provided to the Secretary of the Cooperative. Such a written designation will remain effective until it is superseded by a more recent written designation meeting the same criteria.”
To ensure your participation in CRC’s upcoming Board of Directors election, at least one voting delegate must be selected and approved by your organization’s board president and board secretary. Only those delegates who have been properly documented as authorized by their cooperatives shall be permitted to vote in a CRC election. Here’s what needs to be done to participate in the 2026 election:
Those organizations that have already registered one or more voting delegates:
- Most of CRC’s members have at least one voting delegate registered. On October 15, CRC’s election vendor Survey & Ballot Systems (SBS) will email you a link to your organization’s registered delegate(s). At this time, you will have the opportunity to update the voting delegate. If a change in voting delegate and/or alternate delegate for your organization is desired, any changes can be made online. Your board president and secretary must approve any delegate changes. Even if no change in voting delegate(s) is desired, the name, title, and email address of your delegate(s) must be entered in order to receive CRC's 2026 Board of Directors election ballot via email on January 20, 2026.
Those organization that do not have a registered voting delegate:
- Approximately 10% of CRC’s members do not have a registered voting delegate. To be eligible to participate in CRC’s 2026 Board of Directors election, simply complete the voting delegate registration link emailed to you by SBS on October 15. Once you have selected one or more delegates to vote in the election, your board’s president and secretary must approve any delegate changes.
While it’s best to register your delegate(s) before CRC’s 2026 election begins on January 20, 2026, CRC members have until the election deadline – February 26, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. central time – to complete the process.
Election Process
CRC’s Board of Directors election is completed prior to its annual membership meeting, the next one to be held on Sunday, March 8, in Nashville, Tennessee (in conjunction with NRECA’s PowerXchange/TechAdvantage conferences). On Tuesday, January 20, 2026, SBS will email the designated executive contact at your organization CRC’s annual meeting materials, including the official notice of annual membership meeting, your district’s election voting ballot, candidate biographical information, the March 9, 2025, annual membership meeting minutes, and a link to RSVP to attend the meeting. If CRC does not have a registered delegate for your organization, a link to register one or more delegates will also be included in the email. The 2026 deadline to vote in CRC’s Board election is February 26, 2026, by 5:00 p.m. central time.
