Austin, Minn.—Cooperative Response Center, Inc. (CRC) is pleased to announce the 10 recipients of its 2014 scholarship program, each awarded $1,000 for their post-secondary education costs. This year’s scholarship recipients are as follows:
Erin Dankert is a 2014 graduate of Austin High School in Austin, Minn. Erin plans to attend the University of Minnesota in Duluth, Minn., in the fall to obtain a pre-med degree.
Sela Fadness is also a 2014 graduate of Austin High School. Sela will attend Hamline University in St. Paul, Minn., to pursue a pre-med degree.
Dayana Hansley is a 2014 graduate of Cooper High School in Abilene, Texas. Dayana plans to attend Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, in the fall to study biomedical engineering.
Miya Redic is a 2014 graduate of Abilene High School in Abilene. Miya plans to attend Austin Community College in Austin, Texas, in the fall to pursue a counseling degree.
Katie Allen is a 2014 graduate of Sequatchie County High School in Dunlap, Tenn. Katie plans to attend either Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, Tenn., or the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga, Tenn. Katie will pursue a pre-med degree.
Daniel Dawson is a 2014 graduate of Middle College High School in Chattanooga. In the fall, Daniel will continue his post-secondary education at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Ky., to pursue a degree in electrical and computer engineering.
Elle Johnson is a 2014 graduate of Sequatchie County High School. Elle plans to attend the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn., to obtain a pre-med degree.
Ryan Mosley is a 2014 graduate of Sequatchie County High School. Ryan plans to attend Chattanooga State Community College in Chattanooga to study computer software engineering.
Alexis Perry, the daughter of CRC employee Melinda Perry, is a 2014 graduate of Sequatchie County High School. Alexis plans to attend Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tenn., to pursue a degree in nursing.
Lainey Weller is a 2014 graduate of Sequatchie County High School. Lainey plans to attend the University of Tennessee in Knoxville to pursue a pre-med degree.
When selecting each year’s scholarship recipients, CRC looks not only at the academic achievements of each applicant, but also his or her school and community involvement activities. CRC typically distributes six $1,000 scholarships each year. This year, however, CRC awarded 10 $1,000 scholarships to local students.
“We were so impressed by the exceptional applications we received from area students for this year’s scholarship awards that we wanted to recognize as many of them as possible,” said Chris Holt, CRC’s president and CEO. “Their achievements are to be commended. CRC’s management and staff wish them the best in their continuing education.”
In November 2013, students in the communities in which CRC has offices—Austin, Dunlap, and Abilene—were invited to apply for a 2014 CRC scholarship. The scholarship recipients were selected in May.
