Austin, Minn.—Cooperative Response Center, Inc. (CRC) is pleased to announce the six recipients of its 2017 scholarship program, each awarded $1,000 for their post-secondary education costs. This year’s scholarship recipients are as follows:
Ireland Burch is a 2017 graduate of Sequatchie County High School in Dunlap, Tenn. Burch plans to attend the University of Tennessee – Chattanooga in the fall to obtain a degree in finance.
Emma Dantzler is a 2017 graduate of the Academy of Technology, Engineering, Math and Science (ATEMS) in Abilene, Texas. Dantzler will attend Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene in the fall to pursue a degree in physical therapy with a Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) certification in Hippotherapy.
Kayla Gerber, the daughter of CRC employee Laura Jacobson, is a 2017 graduate of Glenville-Emmons Secondary School in Glenville, Minn. Gerber plans to attend Riverland Community College in Austin, Minn., to participate in their elementary education program.
Luis Martinez III, the son of CRC employee Luis Martinez, Jr., is also a 2017 graduate of ATEMS High School in Abilene. Martinez will attend the University of Texas – Austin in the fall to study biomedical engineering.
Kaitlyn Springer is a 2017 graduate of Sequatchie County High School. She plans to attend the University of Tennessee – Knoxville to pursue a degree in occupational therapy.
Brooke Weinmann, the daughter of CRC employee Kerry Wylie, is a 2017 graduate of Austin High School in Austin, Minn. Weinmann will attend Riverland Community College in the fall and is considering a degree in journalism.
This is the ninth year CRC has offered a scholarship program to local graduates. In October 2016, students in the communities in which CRC has offices—Austin, Dunlap, and Abilene—were invited to apply for a 2017 CRC scholarship. The scholarship recipients were selected in May.
“We had a record number of applicants for our scholarship program this year,” said Chris Holt, CRC’s president and CEO. “It’s always difficult to narrow the applicant pool to six candidates because so many students are deserving of the recognition. We appreciate the hard work that all of the students dedicated to their studies in addition to their school and community activities. Congratulations to CRC’s scholarship recipients and the best of luck in their time at college.”
