Congratulations to Sydney Smith, CSR 4 at the Austin Center, who was selected as CRC’s September 2023 Employee of the Month.
Smith, who has worked at CRC for nearly one year, received four STAR Award cards in August for her professionalism and dedication during a devastating situation with one of our dispatch members. Smith responded to a check-in call regarding a lineman who tragically passed away while working in the field. Despite the gravity of the situation, Smith remained calm and composed throughout the emergency, following the steps needed to ensure the situation was handled with the utmost care, respect, and efficiency. In her efforts, Smith reflected CRC’s values of teamwork, member driven, service excellence, and communication.
“Sydney got the call every dispatcher dreads,” said Kerry Wylie, contact center manager at the Austin Center. “Our dispatchers work closely with line crew personnel and to lose one of them while they are out in the field is unfathomable. Sydney took charge and did all of the necessary steps needed in such a situation. We’re grateful for her professionalism, calm demeanor, and compassion during such a difficult time.”
In recognition of being a CRC Employee of the Month, Smith will receive four hours of PTO. She is also eligible for consideration for CRC’s 2023 Employee of the Year which will be selected by CRC’s management team in late January 2024.
