CRC Announces 2025 Board Election Results

2025 Elected DirectorsAustin, Minn. - The results of Cooperative Response Center, Inc.’s (CRC’s) recent board of directors election were announced at its Sunday, March 9, 2025, annual membership meeting in Atlanta, Ga.

New to the board, Shane Wiley, general manager at J-A-C Electric Cooperative in Bluegrove, Texas, was elected to serve a 3-year term. Wiley has worked in the electric cooperative industry for 25 years, serving as the leader of J-A-C Electric Cooperative for the past seven years. He replaces Randy Crenshaw, president and CEO of Irwin EMC in Ocilla, Georgia. Crenshaw, who served on CRC’s board since 2015, did not seek reelection due to his upcoming retirement. CRC’s board, management, and staff thank him for his commitment and dedication to the board, the company, and its membership over the past 10 years.

In addition to CRC’s newest board member, three other directors were re-elected to their board seats. Scott Peters, CEO of Columbia Rural Electric Association in Walla Walla, Wash., was re-elected to his district 1 board seat for a 3-year term; Mike Scheib, CEO of Tri-County Electric Cooperative in Lancaster, Mo., was re-elected to his district 2 board seat for a 2-year term; and Ray Grinberg, CEO at Tri-County EMC in Gray, Ga., was re-elected to his at-large seat for a 3-year term. Officers

After the annual meeting, the board's directors met and selected the following officers to serve on its executive committee:

2025 Board Executive TeamChairman – Kelly Hovel, general manager at Goodhue County Cooperative Electric Association in Zumbrota, Minn., leads a nine-district, 5,000-meter electric cooperative in eastern Minnesota. Hovel has served on CRC’s board since 2019. This will be his first year serving as board chairman.

Vice Chairman – Shane Hermetz, general manager and CEO at Egyptian Electric Cooperative Association in Murphysboro, Ill., leads a 15,000-meter electric cooperative that operates in 10 southern Illinois counties. Hermetz has served on CRC’s board since 2022. This is his first year serving as board vice chairman. He previously served as board treasurer.

Treasurer – Scheib leads a 6,500-meter electric cooperative that operates nearly 2,000 miles of distribution lines in northeast Missouri. Scheib has served on CRC’s board since 2023. This is his first year serving as board treasurer.

Secretary – Chris Spears, executive vice president and CEO at South River EMC in Dunn, N.C., leads an electric cooperative that serves 48,000 consumers/members in five counties in central North Carolina. Spears has served on CRC’s board since 2020. This will be his first year serving as board secretary.
